A New Compliance Officer for Sands Brothers

Sands Brothers, the investment management firm headquartered in Greenwich Connecticut has hired Christopher Kelly, Esq. Mr. Kelly has the dual title of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Sands Brothers has been registered as an investment advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since the firm’s founding in 1999. As of April 30, 2008 Sands Brothers assets under management totaled $140 million encompassing the investment cateogories of equity, venture, credit and alternative investments.

Christopher Kelly joined Sands Brothers from Pirate Capital LLC, a $2 billion hedge fund, where he served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to working for Pirate Capital, he served as Managing Director, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Cypress Associates LLC, a New York-based investment bank boutique he co-founded. Chris joined Cypress from Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm based in New York, where he was a Partner. Chris began his career in New York with the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Over his career Chris has handled over $10 billion of M&A transactions and securities offerings.

Christopher Kelly has a B.A. degree with High Honors from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
