Just by glancing at any of the clothing throughout the Giorgio Armani collections, one would never guess that the designer was originally educated to be a doctor. But then again, maybe you would. If you take into consideration the attention to detail and specific skill, admiration, and fit applied towards the human form, his medical preparation becomes more transparent than you first realized.

After working as a designer for many years, Armani eventually began his own menswear collection in 1974. Briefly thereafter, womenswear followed. This is the beginning of the brand tailoring and clean lines that Armani would subsequently become world famous for.

After numerous years of working as a relatively unknown designer, it wasn’t until he dressed Richard Gere in the movie American Gigolo that Armani got his big break. Ever since then, his designs have been a red carpet mainstay, featured in editorial spreads, and he has dressed Hollywood royalty for the many years that followed since then.

Among the many collections that Giorgio Armani manages, the latest line of Giorgio Armani eyeglasses is one of the more successful ones. A welcomed add-on to the already existing accessories lines, Armani now offers prescription eyewear and sunglasses and relatively reasonable price points.
