Malaysian Juniors Players Get to Practice Badminton Sets at World-Class Stadium

October 30th, 2009

The Sultan Abdul Halim Indoor Stadium was full with Malaysian juniors players last weekend as practice sessions for badminton sets took place in the world-class stadium. The local juniors team is gearing up for the World Junior Championships which has already begun this week. According to reports, the Malaysian squad was unable to get a feel of the stadium for the past few days due to nets not having been set up for the occasion.

The team players had to settle with their practice at the Kedah BA Hall located adjacent to the establishment for their practice sessions. However, the players stressed that it would be good to get a feel of the actual competition venue in time for the tournament.

Doubles coach Yap Kim Hock said that they have turned up early for practice. He stressed that they don’t feel anything bad about the development stating that they are well aware that the bookings for the tournament venue is until Wednesday. He clarified that they were hoping for extra practice sessions at the stadium.

The mixed team competitions have already begun with the singles events scheduled to take place on October 28 until November 1.

Hock said that his team is still practicing at the indoor stadium just like other competitors from other countries. He’s optimistic that his team can easily adapt to the conditions at the contest venue.
